The Association was established in 1986 EC (1993 GC) as Tourist & Travel Agents Employers Association & later registered & recognized as Ethiopian Travel Agents association in 1998 EC (2005 GC). It represents the majority of IATA Accredited Agents. Ethiopian Travel Agents’ Association is an Association of Professionals. Becoming a member of an Association of Professionals is a career choice & is vital to becoming a professional Travel Agent. Professional Identity (PI) begins with joining an Association of professionals. Becoming member of an Association of Professionals is also more than just belonging & is not only about what you can get from your Association but also what you can give back to the Profession. As a member of an Association of Professionals one becomes part of the governance of the Association.
